Meet Erica

Did you ever watch a beauty ad on tv or flip through a magazine and feel that you could not relate to the spokesperson? Although beautiful, the spokespeople were either too young or too old. Where were the forty-year-old women? Why couldn’t I find someone relatable in those ads? It seems that beauty brands ignore our age demographic and market their products to either younger or much older women. It’s like our age group is in some beauty purgatory. It’s funny if you think about it since our age demographic is filled with kick-ass women who have money to spend on beauty products and dermatological procedures. Wouldn’t you agree?

To paraphrase a Britney Spears song, “I’m not a girl, not yet an old woman.” Therefore I decided to do something about it. I created Facing Forty because I grew frustrated with the lack of beauty tutorials and editorial content for women in their forties.  I have spent 15 years working as an in-demand makeup artist in NYC. As a professional makeup artist, I have worked in all areas of fashion and entertainment from New York Fashion Week to Broadway to TV/film. I have been fortunate enough to work with unbelievably gorgeous women. However, my core clientele is real women, women who are at the top of their careers. I realized that my special skill as a makeup artist is that I know how to make the everyday woman look and feel her best! It’s time for me to take what I know and share it with you in a way that addresses your current beauty concerns and help you be the best YOU that you can be.
